I'm Dr. A.H. Saby, and I believe the human body is the most magnificent machine ever built. It racks up miles. It takes hits. It wears down. And like any great machine, it doesn't need to be scrapped. It needs the right mechanic.
Before getting to the root of your problem, I need to understand the heart of your journey. Where are you going and what do you want to do? Because just like a car, your body is the vehicle that takes you through life, and the roads we travel make all the difference.
I became a doctor because I was fascinated by the body's ability to break down and rebuild itself. I chose PM&R (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) because I realized most people don't need surgery. They need someone who understands how all the parts connect. Think about your car. When something rattles under the hood, you don't go straight to the scrapyard. You find a mechanic who listens, runs the diagnostics, and figures out what's actually going on. Your body deserves the same approach.
I treat the nerves, muscles, and bones: the mechanical system that holds you together and keeps you moving. Whether your body is sleek like a Porsche or rugged like a Land Cruiser, I'll figure out what you need to get you to your destination. No endless procedures. No guesswork. Just a mechanic who actually listens.
Every body tells a story. Here's how I read yours.
A thorough, whole-body diagnostic, not a 7-minute once-over. I look at how your nerves, muscles, and bones work together (or aren't) to find the root cause, not just the symptom.
Movement is medicine. I prescribe specific activities and exercises tailored to your body, your condition, and your goals. Not generic stretches from a handout, but a precise program designed to get your engine running right.
Pain is a signal, not a sentence. I use targeted treatments: injections, therapy, personalized protocols, to address the source, not just mask the noise.
Whether you compete or just train hard, I know what bodies look like under extreme stress. I get you back to doing what you love.
After injury or surgery, your body needs a rebuild plan, not just rest and hope. I design recovery programs that are methodical, progressive, and built for real life.
The best repair is the one you never need. I help working professionals and active people stay ahead of the breakdown with proactive body maintenance.
I look at your body the way a master mechanic looks at an engine, understanding how every component connects, where the stress points are, and what it takes to get you running at your best again.
My approach combines the precision of UCLA training with a genuine belief that your heart is the most powerful tool in your recovery.
A thorough evaluation of your entire system: nerves, muscles, bones. Not a quick look. A real diagnostic.
Finding why you hurt, not just where. Like tracing an electrical problem to its source instead of replacing the fuse.
A personalized treatment roadmap. Activity Rx, Exercise Rx, medications, bracing, injections, and coordination of care with specialists.
Future appointments to figure out what is and isn't working, so I can better tailor the plan and get you to your goal destination.
I graduated from UCLA undergrad and UCLA medical school. I've been in practice since 2012 and I'm an assistant professor at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
I created UCLA's first clinic to treat people with a range of musculoskeletal and mobility issues, from rotator cuff impingement and ankle sprains to brain strokes and spinal cord paraplegia.
I teach musculoskeletal medicine to UCLA medical students and volunteer to help people experiencing homelessness on the streets of Santa Monica.
I research how the ancient Egyptian concept of a "light heart" can help people heal. Because the best mechanic knows: the engine is only as good as the spirit driving it.
During my spare time, I enjoy laughing meditation and cruising the beach on my 7-speed bike listening to 90's hip-hop.
I speak English for all patient care, with introductory Spanish and Arabic skills to help bridge the gap, usually with an interpreter if needed.
